If your one of the many people who still do not know what a browser exactly is, a browser is a program that enables you to view the Web on the Internet. If you need to view a web page like the one you’re at now then you are using a browser. Some of the most common browsers are Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera. You use it everyday for online shopping, communication, and online entertainment. They can dramatically change the way you interact with the web, and they’re free.
You may not even know which browser you’re using! It will probably be “Internet Explorer , ” which is that little blue “e” icon on your desk top and/or in the quick launch bar. This particular browser is the most common browser used because many people think there are no other ! But there are, and much better ones!
Test drive each browser and observe it’s performance, features and styles and compare them to others.
No matter how good your browser is there are other that will have some better features. features are updated so frequently that my advice is to take each one for a spin to see how it handles and compare it with the others.
Whats good for the Goose may not be good for the gander!
Let’s say John and Jane test drive every available browser. John may decide that Firefox is the best browser while Jane is sure that Internet Explorer is the best. Who’s correct? Answer: They’re both correct! The reason they’re both correct is that the best browser is the one that meets your individual needs and is best for you and your PC. It’s all about individual preference!
Having a variety installed on your PC makes using the Internet easier.
You’ll find that tools and other gimmicks are added to browsers all the time. Never un-install browser’s you don’t use as it’s best to keep it for a rainy day when you have problems with the browsers you currently use. If you decide to switch to other browsers, I recommend that you do not un-install Internet Explorer from your PC because it is an integral part of your computer.
How To Make a Browser Faster!
Disable programs that are running but not needed. Use Perfect Un-installer to remove unwanted applications that you, or Windows, cannot remove. Reduce your browser plug-ins, Spy-ware and Ad-ware. Disable images within the browser settings, especially if you are only using it for script-based searches. Turn off flash, Java, images, sound etc. Close tool bars when not in use.
Clear your Internet cache files regularly, or instead of turning off individual features from your favorite browser, try selecting another browser (See full browser list bottom of page) and turn off all the features you don’t use. This is great for script based searches. This will enable faster page loading, giving you more time to research. You can simply switch to your existing browser when you need to view certain things online. The browser I use depends of what I’m doing. Just changing the browser can result in better performance.
What Is The Best Browser For a Mac: Camino, Firefox, Flock, OmniWeb and Opera all perform well on Mac Machines, but overall the best browser for Mac users is Safari. This is because of its seamless integration with iCal (Calendar) and address book. It offers the handy feature of date and address recognition so that information sent to you by email can be used to generate events directly into your calendar. The Web history is elegantly shown, using the cover flow style (such as itunes on the iphone.) This is particularly useful when you can’t remember its URL, but do remember what a Web page looks like. It’s all about user preference. Try them all to see which one you prefer. They’re all free!
